Current project
Strengthening self-employment pathways for women
WEI is currently leading a funded systems change project exploring how self-employment can become a more recognised and accessible pathway for women navigating the criminal justice system.
Working with women and partners across justice and community settings, we're exploring the disparity between opportunities available within the male and female prison estate and identifying how pathways can be strengthened across custody and the community.
The project builds on several years of award-winning work supporting women to explore self-employment and the learning gained from designing and delivering specialist programmes across justice and community settings.
